The Epiphone Jerry Cantrell Wino Les Paul Custom in Dark Wine Red is the signature model of the Alice In Chains guitarist. Created as part of the Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Collection, this is a more affordable version of the guitars that were made to recreate the magic of Jerry's "Wino" Les Paul Custom which he bought back in the 90s.

It certainly has the look nailed with the Dark Wine Red finish, gold hardware, and an exposed coil pickup in the bridge position. With its weight relieved body, you can play on stage for hours with complete comfort. Luckily it also delivers on the tone and playability making it an almost essential guitar for fans of AIC or anyone after a cool looking Les Paul Custom.

PRO Pickups

As mentioned above, these match the look of the humbuckers on Cantrell's own model which is a lovely touch. Sound wise, both the 98T PRO and the Alnico Classic PRO have a classic Les Paul tone, giving a thick yet articulated voice which unsurprisingly works very well when running through an amp with some gain.

Custom Taper Neck

The mahogany neck features a Cantrell Custom Taper profile which fits well in the palm of the hand. It has enough grip for when you are digging into meaty riffs ala Dam That River but is not cumbersome, so lead lines like that in Nutshell or the solo from Sea of Sorrow flow very well.

Signature Touches

We've already established that it has definitely nailed the look of Jerry's guitar but the extra added touches here make it even more personal. With his name on the truss rod cover as well as the JJ logo on the back of the headstock, it is clear this model has met his high standards.
