Taylor Builder's Edition 814ce Next Generation

Taylor are excited to introduce their 2026 Next-Generation Grand Auditorium models, featuring three notable Taylor innovations which reinforce Taylor’s leadership in playability, sonic range, and acoustic amplification: the Action Control Neck, scalloped V-Class bracing, and our all-new Claria System electronics.

Our latest version of the 814ce — a quintessential Taylor model — updates a modern classic, combining the musical versatility of a cutaway Grand Auditorium with the sonic fidelity and fullrange voice of Indian rosewood and incorporating our new next-gen features. Scalloped bracing, together with the Action Control Neck, accentuates rosewood’s natural lows, brings more fullness to the mids, and enhances the richness in the top end. New onboard Claria electronics promise a smooth plug-and-play experience in any live setting, plus the ability to further shape your amplified tone with precision and ease.

For 2026, three unique wood pairings and flavors of rosewood Builder’s Edition 814ce models are offered with our next-gen performance features. Beyond the neck, bracing and electronics updates, the models also share an array of comfort-enhancing features that define the Builder’s Edition design philosophy. These include a beveled armrest and cutaway, chamfered body edges, and our Curve Wing bridge, along with other sophisticated appointment details that elevate the aesthetic appeal.

An Adirondack spruce top provides an upgrade over the Standard Sitka-topped 814ce, bolstering the headroom of this model and giving players ample dynamic range on top of rosewood’s rich tonal palette. Aesthetic details include rosewood top trim, maple fretboard and peghead purfling, a green abalone rosette trimmed with rosewood and maple purfling, rosewood soundhole binding, mother-of-pearl Element inlays, a Kona edgeburst back and sides, gloss-finish body, rosewood pickguard and Gotoh 510 tuning machines in Antique Gold.
