The Landlord FX Banging Hangover is a three-mode Reverb pedal with quite a personality! Guitarists seem to prefer their reverbs to be either super-subtle or Grand Canyon obvious and the Banging Hangover happily gives a little of both.

Upon plugging in, we initially felt that the lower settings were a little too subtle but some careful tweaking of the Mix control brought us a fresh palette of highly usable reverbs. Adding some space and context to clean sounds is very rewarding with the Banging Hangover, as the effect complements your overall tone rather than dominating it.

Dialling the Reverb and Mix knobs up brings us into the realm of Post-Rock/Kevin Shields-type washes of ambience. Select your favourite fuzz pedal, put the Banging Hangover at the end of your FX chain and enjoy a very obvious, very ‘there’ reverb! Subtle it ain’t but fun it most certainly is! The length of the reverb tail is not necessarily the longest we’ve heard but the clear presence of the signal makes it a win regardless.

Guitarists looking for a low-cost reverb pedal should make this their number one choice. Even reverb aficionados should consider this for an additional slot on their board: for this price, it’s a stunning pedal.
