The '59 Les Paul is an icon, favoured by many world-class guitarists for decades, as a result, an original '59 is exceptionally rare. This custom shop model sees the '59 recreated in incredible detail, with a hand-picked 2 Piece Figured Maple top, 1 Piece Lightweight Mahogany body, Authentic '59 Medium "C" neck profile, Custombucker Alnico 3 unpotted humbuckers and Kluson Single Line, Single Ring tuners, representing the closest possible guitar to an original '59 in looks, tone and feel.

To give the guitar the authentic vibe of a guitar that's been loved over the last 60 years, the Murphy Lab have worked their magic on every inch of the instrument. Murphy Lab Finish

Each Murphy Lab guitar is painstakingly aged to look and feel like a guitar you've owned for years. The aging process under Tom Murphy's guidance has taken a leap forward, with the new nitrocellulose lacquer recreating the look of a guitar that has spent years in and out of its case with its wood moving to create that authentic checking. The Murphy Lab doesn't stop at giving you an authentically aged finish though, they know exactly how a vintage guitar should feel too. When you pick up this Les Paul you'll notice the rolled fingerboard edges, and the rolled binding on the guitar and it'll feel like an instrument you've played your entire life.

Authentic Neck Shape

A 1959 Les Paul is hard to come by and not many will ever get to play one. This guitar features a period-correct, authentic medium "C" neck shape. Few in the world have the access to vintage instruments that Gibson does, this means the Custom Shop can recreate in excruciating detail exactly how a '59 neck should feel. Combined with the Murphy Lab aging it feels exactly like an old '59 Les Paul should after years and years of playing.
