Versatile Power Valve Configuration

The amplifier comes equipped with two distinct power valve types: 2x 6L6 and 2x EL34. With a front-panel switch, you can toggle between these power stages in 50-watt mode or combine all four valves for the full 100-watt experience, offering unmatched versatility in sound.

Revolutionary Power Amplifier “Cut” Selector

For the first time, Blackstar introduces a switchable “Cut” selector. This PAF three-position selector allows you to fine-tune the amplifier's higher, harsher frequencies. This customisation lets you shape the amplifier's overall sound to perfectly match your preferences from an aggressive, extended high-end to a warm, vintage sound.

Advanced Connectivity and Tone Control

The St. James 100 head includes a built-in reactive load and Blackstar’s IR based CabRig technology, providing professional direct tones for both live performances and recording sessions. The amp also features a switchable effects loop (Series or Parallel) and an adjustable +2 - +6 dB Solo boost which is controlled via the included 6-way footswitch.

CabRig simulator technology

Our world-class CabRigTM IR-based DSP speaker simulator reproduces the sound and feel of a mic’d up guitar cab in incredible detail. CabRig’s new advanced algorithm can simulate a speaker cabinet and room with effectively zero latency, no phase mismatch and much more flexibility than an IR snapshot. Deep-dive using the accompanying software to capture the incredible tones via USB / XLR out or headphones.

Pro connectivity

With more musicians recording at home St. James is perfect for the way we play today with USB audio connectivity for pro-recording and an XLR D.I. for professional live use, both using the built-in inductive load and CabRig speaker simulation.
